BOSTON - State Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg, Chair of the Massachusetts School Building Authority ("MSBA"), and John K. McCarthy, MSBA Executive Director/Deputy CEO, announced today that the MSBA Board of Directors has invited three Massachusetts school districts to collaborate in conducting Feasibility Studies for potential MSBA school construction projects.
"These Feasibility Studies will carefully examine potential solutions to the issues identified at the school facilities and will help us develop the most cost effective plan to address those issues," stated Treasurer Goldberg. "We look forward to partnering with the Districts to move these potential projects forward."
The Board of Directors approved Feasibility Study invitations for the following schools:
District | School |
Amesbury | Amesbury Elementary School |
Central Berkshire | Wahconah Regional High School |
West Springfield | Philip G. Coburn Elementary School |
"We are committed to working with these Districts to help address the deficiencies at these schools," said Executive Director/Deputy CEO McCarthy. "Our partnership with local officials will ensure the best solutions for the students in each of these Districts."
The MSBA partners with Massachusetts communities to support the design and construction of educationally appropriate, flexible, sustainable and cost-effective public school facilities. Since its 2004 inception, the Authority has made over 1,750 site visits to more than 250 school districts as part of its due diligence process and has made over $12.4 billion in reimbursements for school construction projects.
