Capital Pipeline

The MSBA’s program for school building construction and renovation grants is a non-entitlement competitive grant program.  Grants are distributed by the MSBA's Board of Directors (the “Board”) based on need and urgency, as expressed by the district and validated by the MSBA.  Submitting a Statement of Interest (“SOI”) is the critical first step in the MSBA’s program for school building construction and renovation grants.

The MSBA has implemented a rolling capital pipeline to move SOIs forward in the MSBA’s process.

Once the Board has moved a district’s SOI into the Capital Pipeline by voting to authorize a Feasibility Study or Repair Assessment, the district, working in conjunction with the MSBA, should procure the team of professionals that will work with them as the SOI progresses through the Capital Pipeline.

The MSBA has prepared two charts to gauge and track the progress of SOIs that have been moved into the MSBA’s Capital Pipeline.

The first chart, Capital Pipeline - SOI Status, provides the status of SOIs as categorized in the MSBA’s Capital Pipeline.  The narrow solid bar indicates the number of SOIs in each category as reported at the January 27, 2010 Board meeting.

The second chart, District/SOI/OPM/Designer Status, provides information regarding the district, prioritized school, SOI status, OPM (if selected), and Designer (if selected).  *Please note, the names of OPMs and Designers have not been provided for all of the districts in the Audit/Complete status category.  The information contained in the chart was updated on January 27, 2010.

In addition, the MSBA has prepared the following chart, Capital Pipeline – Estimated Bid Schedule, to provide additional information on upcoming bid packages for 2010.  The information containted in the chart was updated on February 28, 2010. The dates included in the chart are estimates only and reviewers should contact the District for the most up to date information.
