MSBA Designer Selection Panel

The MSBA has established a Designer Selection Panel (“DSP”) for the selection of designers, programmers and entities providing feasibility studies in connection with public school construction projects seeking funding from the MSBA.

Pursuant to M.G.L c.7 § 38C, the MSBA applied for and received an exemption from the jurisdiction of the Designer Selection Board of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the establishment of a DSP for projects funded by the MSBA.  The DSP consists of recommended candidates of the Boston Society of Architects (BSA), the American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC) and the Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts (the AGC) as well as MSBA staff, independent design and construction professionals, and representatives of the applicant school district.

Independent members generally serve for a two-year term.  Members representing the applicant school district are selected on a project-by-project basis and their term will be project-specific.
